, primary medical care, mental health and addiction treatment. TTC was incorporated in 1972 as Free Men, Inc., and later changed its name to Tarzana Treatment Centers. Historically, TTC has provided inpatient detoxification and residential and outpatient treatment services to addicts.

Over time, TTC has expanded its services to gender and culturally specific treatment, Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) including methadone maintenance, education, and has become a leading provider of HIV/AIDS services. Telemedicine allows many of these services to be provided via video conference. A complete list of services is below.

Tarzana provides integrated alcohol and drug addiction treatment including, inpatient and outpatient medical detoxification (detox), education, mental health, and residential rehab for teens / youth, and adults. TTC also provides outpatient services, sober living housing, aftercare, HIV/AIDS Services, Prop 36 assessment and treatment, family medical care, women’s services, family counseling, domestic violence intervention, anger management and community education.

Youth Services

The Youth Services Program of Tarzana Treatment Centers is a full-service, comprehensive substance abuse treatment program for patients from 12 through 18 years of age and, as appropriate, for transitional youth from 18 to 21. The Youth Services Program provides the following services:

Through programs and services, they young patients with traditional, as well as progressive, treatment modalities. These include:

The staff is made up of specialists in the treatment of youth: psychiatrists; psychologists; marriage/family therapists; licensed clinical social workers; certified chemical dependency counselors; and special education teachers.

The outpatient program includes process and psycho-educational groups. Patients also receive a minimum of one hour of individual counseling a week. Family therapy and support groups, while not mandatory to treatment, are strongly encouraged.

The school program is fully accredited and is overseen by the local school district. Residential and day treatment patients attend school full time while receiving treatment. Full time attendance is available for any student currently receiving treatment from Tarzana Treatment Centers.

The Youth Services Program offers a comprehensive program encompassing inpatient and outpatient treatment options, education, and aftercare support services. They emphasize a strength based approach to treatment. The goal is to empower youth by providing them with skills and a knowledge base to reclaim their lives and realize their full potential.

Locations

Located in Los Angeles County, California, TTC has facilities in Tarzana, Lancaster, Palmdale, Long Beach, Northridge and Reseda. Adult services are available at all locations. Youth services are available in Tarzana, Long Beach, and Antelope Valley. Tarzana and Long Beach also provide specialized services for women with children. Primary care clinics are located in Northridge, Lancaster, and Palmdale, providing medical and mental health care, and specialized HIV/AIDS treatment.
Tarzana Treatment Centers is a Healthy Way LA (HWLA) provider. This is no-cost health care for those who qualify. Enrollment assistance is available on-site.
