TATiUC offers intensive courses with hands-on practical (70%) and theory (30%) in the fields of Manufacturing Technology, Electrical and Automation Technology, Chemical Technology and computer & Media Technology with specialization in the areas of Tool & Die Making, Tool & Die Design, CNC Machining, Mechatronics, Robotics,Computer Integrated System, Electronics & Instrumentation, Polymer and Computer Network (CISCO).
TERENGGANU Advanced Technical Institute (TATI) was established to tackle the problem the needs of skilled manpower in Malaysia especially in Terengganu Darul Iman. State Government considers that an institution that produced skilled manpower with high skills and the ability Conquering the knowledge related to technology should be established to support the growth of national industry sector. According to Tati Director, Prof Dr Mohd. Nawi Derahman, on the June 11, 1993, the State Government agreed to establish a Skills Centre to be known as Terengganu Terengganu Advanced Technical Institute (Tati).
To ensure that the philosophy of the Institute become a reality, the State Government has established cooperation with Ingineurschule St. Gallen (ISG), Switzerland for the guidance and expertise technical.Regarding, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed on October 11, 1993 between the State and ISG to establish the Tati and introduced courses in High Skills Diploma (at the beginning) in Tati. Through the agreement, the ISG has agreed to provide expertise, technology and logistics facilities.
Tati started its first intake in 1993 with a Siswa / siswi more than 30 people. Siswa / siswi started their studies in temporary Tati campus at the College of Religious Sultan Zainal Abidin (KUSZA) before moving at the permanent campus in the Gulf Kalong, Kemaman in 1996 which was officiated by Dato 'Seri Dr. Mahathir Mohamad, Prime Minister of Malaysia on October 11, 1997. In addition to the initiatives and commitment of the State Government, Federal Government and private parties involved in the development of Tati and complementary to the Terengganu State Government's efforts to increase the number and quality of talent in the industry, taking part in the administration, management and finance in terms of its establishment .

ACADEMIC PROGRAMS
High Skills Diploma Program offered at Tati provides the skilled workforce needed in various industries in our country. Hence, this program is calculated is the unit compared to other academic programs offered at HEIs country. In fact, Tati is one of the pioneer institutions in the country that offer programs in high-level skills. Diploma Programme has been and will be conducted at a shaped Tati training emphasizes academic and vocational skills in which the program can provide to students, exposure to high-tech skills the use of equipment, control equipment individually and in groups and expose the real working world environment to siswa and siswi.
This program is offered in collaboration with ISG, Switzerland. Among the courses offered include the Department of Production Engineering is Diploma In Manufacturing Engineering (Tool and Die Design) and Diploma In Manufacturing Engineering (Tool and Die Making). Department, Industrial Automation Industrial Automation Diploma in Information Technology (IT) and Diploma in Industrial Automation (Mechatronics). The courses take three years and conducted full-time at Tati.
Bachelor Programs (TATIUC-UTM)
On the needs of skilled professional growing, learning in the Tati expanded to the degree that aims to meet the aspirations of the State Government to make Tati as an institution that can produce skilled manpower for national needs in the areas of technology. Thus, Tati took Tati Double Degree Programme run-UTM was first offered in July session 1996/1997. Among the courses conducted on campus Tati is a Bachelor of Chemical Engineering., Electrical Engineering or Electronics, Mechanical Engineering, Mekatrinik and Integration of Computer Science degree. Each degree takes four years, three years in the Tati and final year at UTM Skudai campus, until the completion of infrastructure Tati.
Short Courses
Selain daripada kursus jangka masa panjang, TATI juga menawarkan program kursus jangka masa pendek. Tujuan utama kursus jangka masa pendek ditawarkan adalah untuk memberi ruang kepada pihak industri menghantar pekerja mereka mengikuti latihan secara jangka masa pendek di TATI. Dengan adanya latihan sebegini, diharapkan pihak industri terutama di sekitar TATI dapat memperolehi manfaat yang sepenuhnya terhadap kewujudan TATI sebagai penyedia program latihan-latihan kepada kakitangan mereka. Kursus-kursus yang ditawarkan adalah seperti berikut:
Teknologi Pembuatan
CNC - Programming, CNC - Milling, CNC - Turning, EDM Basic, Auto CAD Basic, AutoCAD Advance dan Plastic Injection Moulding.
Bagi Teknologi Maklumat (IT) melibatkan Office Automation, C Programming, JAVA Programming, Homepage Development dan Internet Multimedia. Mekatronik - Pneumatics, Hydraulics, Introduction to Microprocessor, Microcontroller 1 dan Microcontroller 2. Untuk Kursus PersijilanUjian Tanpa Musnah (NDT), TATI telah menjalinkan usahasama dengan Ruane & T.P. O'Niell (UK). Kerjasama ini bagi membolehkan Ruane & T.P. O'Neill memberi latihan serta mengendalikan peperiksaan dalam bidang NDT. Ruane - TATI menawarkan lima bentuk persijilan yang diiktiraf industri tempatan dan di peringkat antarabangsa.
Bidang NDT adalah diguna secara meluas terutamanya dalam sektor petrokimia. Menyedari kekurangan tenaga mahir amat ketara dalam bidang NDT di negara kita, khususnya di Terengganu, TATI telah mengambil inisiatif bagi menawarkan kursus jangka masa pendek dalam bidang ini. Antara kursus persijilan yang ditawarkan ialah personnel Certification in Non Destructive Test (PCN) iaitu Ultrasonic Testing, Magnatic Particle Testing, Liquid Penetrant Inspection dan Radio Graphic Interpretation, Certification Sheme For Welding Inspection Personnel (CSWIP) iaitu Welding Inspection, Institute Of Corrosion (ICORR), Painting Inspection dan American Society For Non Destructive Test (ASNT) iaitu Visual Inspection, Ultrasonic Testing, Magnetic Particle Testing dan Sijil Kemahiran Malaysia iaitu Visual Inspection, Ultrasonic Testing, Magnetic Particle Testing dan Radiographic Interpretation.
Stage Diploma/HND
In the 1999/2000 session, Tati has been offering a diploma course in twinning programs Tati-Edexcel (UK), known as the Higher National Diploma Programme (HND) and start by taking the siswa or siswi first group of students or student in July 1999. Courses offered are HDN in Manufacturing Engineering, HND in Electrical Engineering (Electrical And Electronic) and HND in Information Technology (Software Engineering). A minimum three-year course is conducted full-time on campus Tati.
Pra TATI - KAT
At the July session 1999/2000 Tati took the first group of students or student Pre-KMT Tati about 39 people, one-year program is conducted in collaboration between Tati and the International College of Terengganu (KAT) program is introduced with the aim to train students SPM school leavers who have no scientific or technical background to prepare for taking the technical areas in Tati. This program takes one year and conducted in KAT. When the siswa and the siswi successfully completed the course in KAT, they will be offered to further their studies to the year of the Tati (Main Campus) at the Diploma level.
Pra TATI - TESDEC [TESDEC]
Tati was also in cooperation with the State of Terengganu Skills Development Centre (TESDEC) and introduce the Pre-TESDEC Tati in the field of Mechatronics and "Tool and Die." For the field of Mechatronics, the program is for six months. Student or student who successfully after that period will be offered to enter into the second semester of a diploma in respect of the Tati. The program was started in November 1999 that the first group taking this program a total of 20 persons and conducted campus of Tati. While the Diploma in Tool & Die TESDEC carried out in the certificate given credit transfer and siswa or siswi who successfully absorbed into the second semester of a Tool & Die in Tati.
