Corruption allegations

On the 5th February 2011, the Pamir Times reported a press release by the Karakoram Engineers Organization, in which it was claimed that Mehdi Shah had appointed corrupt people on important government positions, such as Mr Syed Hadi as the new secretary for education.

Mehdi Shah is a popular leader of PPP Baltistan and he loves calling himself a Jiyala of Bhutto.

He was elected by the Gilgit - Baltistan Legislative Assembly after secret-balloting.
