Introduction

In September 1990 the Farnham's and their nanny Margeret Clemence moved in to the Close replacing the Choi family in No. 7.

Susannah was Max Farnham

's first wife with whom he'd had two children and Max's second wife Patricia wasn't comfortable with it. Max and Patricia eventually ended up divorcing and Max got back together with Susannah and they remarried.

Car accident

On 7 April 1997, tragedy struck when she was involved in a car crash. Susannah suffered minor injuries, but Matthew and Emily were badly injured. Matthew died shortly after reaching hospital, and Emily died the next day.

Susannah was wracked with guilt as she had been the one driving and had had a drink before.

Susannah went onto attempt suicide, but was stopped. She also collapsed at the children's funeral, but was discharged from hospital swiftly as her illness was diagnosed as an infection.

Surrogacy

Susannah, desperate for a baby, agreed to pay neighbour Jacqui Dixon to be a surrogate mother. Jacqui later gave birth to a baby boy, Harry. Susannah and Jacqui had frequent arguments over the child.

Max and Susannah later went on to have another child; a daughter, Emma. Jacqui became concerned that Susannah didn't care for Harry as much as she did Emma. Her concerns were realised when Sussanah became distraught when she learned one of her babies was ill but somewhat relieved when she realised it was Harry.

Marriage breakdown, Affair and Explosion

Susannah and Max's relationship fell apart when she found out that Max had been having an affair for 20 years which he'd kept a secret. Susannah threw Max out and began an affair with married neighbour Greg Shadwick.

In August 1999, Susannah and Greg's naked bodies were found after The Millennium Club had exploded after Callum Finnegan

 had planted a bomb. Greg had been killed on impact while Susannah lay in a coma for two months.

Death

On November 5, 2000, Susannah was found dead at the foot of her stairs. Max, Emily, Jacqui, Mick and Darren were all suspected of her murder. Each suspect had visited her at least one point that night and had an exchange of words.

The true cause of Susannah's death was finallly revealed to be Max who pushed her in a fit of rage.
