The new bottom hull has incorporated side sponsons (similar to adding "blowsion tubbies") into the hull and the rear of the hull is slightly narrower with deeper strakes. The Pump, intake grate and ride plate are all setback 50mm compared to the past Superjets. The pole on the 2008 Superjet is also about 2 inches shorter than previous round nose superjets.

Current Superjet

The current Superjet (still in production by Yamaha Motor) has been visually the same since 1996. The 2008 model was the first year of a new bottom deck, previously unchanged in the history of the superjet. This watercraft does not meet California or New York emissions standards.
