. He is one of the pioneers of Indian television journalism and specially known for his anti-crime activism on Indian television. Suhaib Ilyasi is the founder and the Executive Chairperson of Aaliya Productions Pvt. Ltd. A television software production company he named after his daughter Aaliya. At present Suhaib Ilyasi is editing a news magazine on governance, Bureaucracy Today and a news portal named www.bureaucracytoday.com.

After the suicide of his wife, Ilyasi has been charge under Dowry Act (498A). He has since has been speaking at events across the country to create awareness about the alleged misuse of 498a (Dowry Law misuse) by women to extort money and harass their husband's entire extended family.

Bollywood sources informs that Ilyasi is directing and producing a feature film on the premise of Misuse of section 498A (Dowry Act)

Life

Ilyasi was born in New Delhi, India. He post-graduated in Mass Communication in 1991 from Mass Communication Research Centre (MCRC), Jamia Millia Islamia University. After college and marriage to Anju Ilyasi, he moved to London where he started working for TV Asia

Ilyasi returned to India in 1996 with the concept of starting a crime-based reality TV show for Indian public broadcast. When he thought of a crime-related show on the small screen in the 1990s, no channel was ready to permit it on air. Zee TV

Suhaib Ilyasi's wife Anju Ilyasi committed suicide on January 10, 2000 at her Mayur Vihar apartment in east Delhi. Ilyasi was accused with cruelty, dowry death and destruction of evidence after Anju's sister and mother made statements holding Ilyasi responsible for the death. In contrast, Anju's brother and father support Suhaib, and claimed that the pair had made the allegations in order to gain custody of Anju and Ilyasi's child Aaliya. In 2001, the Delhi High Court ruled that Ilyasi should maintain custody of his child, denying the court challenge of his mother-in-law that she should have custody of Aaliya under Islamic law. In 2003, charges under Section 304B (dowry death) and Section 498a (cruelty by husband or relative) of Indian law were laid against Ilyasi In the period before the case were heard, both Ilyasi and his mother-in-law made legal petitions, alleging contempt, harassment, and malpractices by police.

He is presently directing a movie named as '498a-Wedding Gift" with star cast- Haarsh Nagar, Srishti Gautam, Rima Lagu, Farida Jalal, Deepak Tijori, Alok Nath etc.
