Stingray Digital is a privately held Canadian media and entertainment company based in Montreal, Quebec. Stingray Digital specializes in digital media including interactive music broadcasting and distribution.

History

Stingray Digital was established in 2007 by Eric Boyko and Alexandre Taillefer in partnership with Quebec-based company, Telesystem. In May 2007, the company acquired the majority of assets from Soundchoice; later to be split into The Karaoke Channel and Stingray Music. While in February 2009, Stingray announced it would be acquiring the majority of assets in Max Trax from Corus Entertainment

. In October 2009, Stingray merged Max Trax with Galaxie to form one service under the Galaxie brand which Stingray began operating on behalf of CBC/Radio-Canada. Later that year, Stingray would announce the acquisition of CHUM Satellite Services from CTVglobemedia

 for an undisclosed amount, in which Stingray rebranded Stingray360 on May 31, 2010. On August 4, 2010, Stingray announced it had agreed to purchase Concert TV

, a US-based video-on-demand television service, from Interactivation. On April 4, 2011 Stingray announced it would purchase the London-based music broadcaster Music Choice for an undisclosed figure. In May 2011, Stingray purchased Galaxie from CBC/Radio-Canada.
