History

Stick Horses in Pants was founded in 2004 by Suzanne Hadley, Jared Harp, Christa Remund, Sarah Smith and Hunter Willis. The troupe chose the name "Stick Horses in Pants" for its acronym potential (SHiP) and western flair. In June of that year, the first SHiP show premiered in a living room. A year later, the troupe secured a regular gig performing on holiday weekends at the Broadmoor.

The style of comedy and troupe members have changed with time, but the format has remained constant. Stick Horses in Pants shows feature short form improvisational comedy—scenes created based on audience suggestions.

In 2006, SHiP was featured in several comedy videos produced by Boundless, the twenty-something arm of Focus on the Family, a well-known non-profit organization.
