inhibits phosphofructokinase enzyme,necessary for glycolysis by combining with the sulfhydryl (SH) on the enzyme,once glycolysis is inhibited, the worms become paralyzed and lose their hold on the wall of mesentric veins and undergoes hepatic shift,die and phagocytosed by hepatic cells
