's Second XI in 1992, before returning to Australia that winter to play one more Shield match for Western Australia, against the same opposition as in the previous season. In this game he took only two wickets but made his career best score of 57 not out

His next cricket came in the 1993–94 Australian season, when he switched states to make seven first-class and one List A appearances for Tasmania; his 22 first-class wickets represented comfortably the highest season's aggregate of his career.
In 1995, Herzberg returned to England, this time with Kent

However, it was a false dawn, as he only managed three more wickets in total in the other four matches he played for Kent.

After another gap in his career, in 1997 Herzberg signed for yet another county, Somerset
