Beattie earned recognition twice as the NCAA Division II National Player of the Year, including in 2010, when he scored 26 goals and added 16 assists for 68 points, all single-season records at NKU. His efforts led the Norse to a 20-2-3 record and the program’s first-ever national championship.

Beattie was a three-time All-American, a three-time Midwest Region and Great Lakes Valley Conference Offensive Player of the Year honoree and a four-time All-GLVC selection.
