Stephen is a self-confessed science-fiction fanatic and also freely admits to having an unhealthy obsession with anything technological.

Stephen has gathered a large fan base since he started working for Sky. He is also a type one diabetic.

Prior to April 2010, Stephen was referred to on Sky News and on his official website as "Steve".
