. It lies at the junction between the Birmingham to Coventry line, and the predominantly freight-only Stechford-Aston spur. The station was of much greater importance at the end of the 19th century, and retained a working freight-yard until the 1980s. The yard tracks have since been lifted.

Although up Walsall to Birmingham International trains have a platform face of their own; down Birmingham International to Walsall trains use the up main platform via a facing crossover. The 19th century bridge over the railway underwent renovation in August-September 2006.

Stechford Station has poor access for people with mobility impairments. Steep steps lead from the ticket office to the Birmingham platform, and the Coventry platform can only be reached by traversing a further bridge. People with mobility impairments are therefore generally advised to use Lea Hall

Services

Stechford is served by two trains per hour to Birmingham New Street Monday to Saturday. This service is reduced to one train per hour on Sundays. Southbound, there are two trains per hour to Birmingham International with one train continuing to Coventry. There is a less frequent southbound service on Sundays.
