The Anglican parish church built in 1847 is dedicated to St. Mark and the Roman Catholic church to Our Lady of Fatima. There are two pubs, the Jolly Tanners and the Victory, the latter is NOT named in honour of Catherine Matcham, the favourite sister of Admiral Horatio Nelson, who lived in nearby Slaugham
