Stanley Mease "Sam" Toyne (13 June 1881 – 22 February 1962) was an English
cricketer
and headmaster.

He was headmaster of St Peter's School, York
from 1913 to 1936, where he coached future England captain Norman Yardley
. He was a Fellow of the Royal Historical Society
and published a number of books on history.
