History
The railway has had a major impact on the Stabekk area. During the building of Drammenbanen in 1870-72 the railway company bought the areas around the line from the farms, and after the right-of-way had been determined, the unused lots were sold to the railways employees. Especially the lots a distance away from the line were cheap. This way the railway ensured a population to support the demand for transport with the line.The station was first opened in 1884, and the current station building dates to 1902.
