, as a result of a joint venture that commenced in 1998. The merger, of facilities owned by two different religious orders, was the first of its kind.

St Vincents & Mercy Private purchased Vimy House Private Hospital in 2008, creating its third campus. Across the three sites, St Vincents & Mercy Private has a capacity of 480 beds.

Major specialities include interventional cardiology and cardiothoracic surgery, obstetrics, neurosurgery and orthopaedics.

St Vincents & Mercy Private also runs a comprehensive social acccountability program. Approximately 300 meals per week are supplied to St Mary's House of Welcome and Ozanam Community Centre. The hospital funds an ACU scholarship for nursing students of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander heritage, and provides two scholarships for refugee children in the community to complete their education at Xavier College. The hospital provides support to Moira Kelly's Children First Foundation, Mercy Care and The Way. Staff are also given the opportunity to apply for community leave in order to undertake volunteer service in a charity.
