The Commission found that the blessing of Same-sex unions was a matter of doctrine. It also noted that although the issue touched upon several core doctrines, it was not itself a matter of core doctrine. It has been debated whether the issue would require a change in the church's canons (which must be approved by a two-thirds majority at two General Synods) http://www.integritycanada.org.
