The two academies are the Page Academy (Middle School alternative) and the Knights' Academy (High School alternative). There is also a private Catholic School for grades K-7 (with 8th grade to be added in 2012) in St. Michael.

Currently a new high school has been opened for the 2009-2010 school year, and a dedication took place on September 20, 2009. The previous high school was converted into a new middle school (Middle School West). The current middle school has been renamed to Middle School East. The new high school is the 2nd largest in the state of Minnesota.
