Sreepur is located at 23.6000°N 89.3875°E . It has 23835 units of house hold and total area 179.18 km².

Sreepur has an average literacy rate of 30.9% (7+ years), and the national average of 32.4% literate. Poet Farrukh Ahmed (1918-1974), Kazi Qader Nawaz, Abu Saleh borned in this Upazila.

Administrative

Sreepur (Town) consists of two mouzas. The area of the town is 3.11 sq km. It has a population of 4152; male 51.13%, female 48.87%; population density per sq km is 1335. Literacy rate among the town people is 42.4%.

Administration Sreepur thana was turned into an upazila in 1983. The upazila consists of eight union parishads, 83 mouzas and 162 villages.

Barishat is the biggest village in not only Sripur but also Magura district. People of multi classes live here. Maximum occupation can be found here. The Eidgaon of Barishat is also the biggest of Magura district.
