Spyder MR1
Encyclopedia
The Spyder MR1 is a MilSim
paintball marker
designed and manufactured by Kingman Group
, now superseded by the Spyder MR2 and MR3 models.
Accuracy for the stock barrel is lacking
The weak elbow/weak ball detent problem can easily be fixed by simply replacing the factory-made elbow/ball detent with a new one, or buying a metal elbow which retails for around 40 dollars (U.S.). Many problems claimed to be caused by a weak ball detent have also turned out to simply be a case of improperly reassembling the marker. The bolt has a groove on it that allows the detent to safely pass by it without any harm being done. However, if the bolt is put in upside-down, the bolt can shear the detent off very easily. As for the barrel shroud, it is detachable from the front by unscrewing the hex screw on the underside of the shroud. Many tactical barrels have been made with an extension that fits into the shroud to accommodate it covering the face of the marker.
E-MR1s are available in matte silver or matte olive.

Design
The Spyder MR1 is a low-end mechanical marker. Much like its newer, electronic counterparts, the Spyder MR2, MR3 and E-MR1, it has an offset feedneck for rifle-like sighting, a 12 inch muzzle brake barrel, an anti-double feed detent to prevent double feeding. Being a mechanical paintball marker, it features only semi-automatic rates of fire. It also has a two finger trigger (or double trigger) for faster firing and less fatigue. It has two stock colors, matte black or matte olive and retails with a detachable stock.Strengths
Reliability and durability are the most outstanding qualities of the Spyder MR1. The simplicity of the MR1's "stacked tube" design provides ease of access to its internal parts for cleaning and/or repair; it is ideal for first time players.Weaknesses
The MR1 has been clearly identified to have the following problems. It:- Has a rather weak stock, and you can't aim down the barrel with a mask on without the use of a scope. Some players have remedied this by cutting off and removing the top bar of the stock allowing the mask some clearance.
- The bolt is located on the top of the marker, so it obstructs the stock sight.
- Has a very brittle, weak elbow feed
- Weak ball detent on older models
