. Special Jaegers are trained for demanding special operations in Finland and if needed, abroad.

The Special Jaeger training is divided into three phases, which are the basic course, advanced training and finalizing training. Training lasts for about 14 months. The basic course lasts for 26 weeks and includes CQB training, weapons training, parachute training, helicopter-, boat and vehicle training, reconnaissance training, medical training, pioneer training, communications training and small-unit tactics training in both urban and rural areas. Advanced training lasts for 26 weeks and finalizing training for about 8 weeks.
