In August 2006, a girl collapsed in the Camp Cartoon Network section after riding the roller coaster. She would later be pronounced dead due to heart failure, but an autopsy showed that she died of a congenital heart condition.

Spaceleys is the second junior-coaster built at the park. The first, was a Bradley & Kaye Little Dipper named Gulf Coaster, however it only operated in the 1976 season. Fires and other issues forced the park to close it.
