 and were to conduct the wide-scaled and center-coordinated military operations in the German rear.

On the territory of BSSR about 40 such units had been formed in 1941—1944, mostly in 1943.

Units of that kind were organised by the Soviet ruling bodies of the higher level and commanded usually by the local Communist leaders or by the higher Red Army officers. Managed by the staffs of the respective united formations.
