The area begins immediately south of Kennedy Blvd. Used to describe a socio-economic unit, people often refer to South Tampa as the area between Kennedy Blvd to the north and Gandy Boulevard to the south with the area north of this border referred to as North of Kennedy (NOK) and the area south of this border referred to as South of Gandy (SOG). The implication is that South Tampa is a more affluent area than NOK or SOG.
