Sports

South Aiken High School's mascot is the Thoroughbred. South Aiken is very accomplished in golf(Having won the AAAA State Championship in 2004, and placing second in the 2008 season with only one senior.), tennis (having won the men's tennis state championship in 2002, 2003, and 2004), and soccer, winning the Men's Soccer state championship in 2005(4A) and 2009 (3A). In the 2005 soccer session, South Aiken was ranked second in the Southern Region, and third overall in the United States. In 2007, South Aiken football team beat its cross town rival, Aiken High, for the first time in 14 years.South Aiken's track and field team has been fairly successful recently. The boys team has won in its region for the six seasons in a row (2003-2008) with the girls team winning 5 out of those 6 years as well.
