Sonia Escolano

Sonia Escolano is a Valencian film director, born in Alicante in December 1980, he moved to Alcalá de Henares
in 1996 to study Literature. In 2005 she joined as director of the short film Sadrac González
for the project of "Mr. Neck-long" which won the second prize at the Alcine film festival.
In 2006 she continued in the direction with "Juliet." Furthermore, in the literary field has won numerous awards for poetry and essays and has also been a professor of children's theater for several years. Her talent for handling child actors assumed the success in achieving short like "Cedric", participating in festivals around the globe or the controversial "The Rape of Ganymede."

, which tells the story of an illegal immigrant and the problems that happens in Spain. This film won the Best Film in the Indie Fest film festival in Los Angeles
, as well as in many international festivals among which the Austin Film Festival, one of the largest in the world. Also participating in the official section of festivals like Athensfest, Les Reencontres des Cinémas d'Europe or The Bronx, in New York
.
In 2009 she shot the fake trailer "Second Blood", filmed in Japan for Spanish players to Teaserland with the remaining finalist from over 1000 projects presented and the short film "Invisible Old People" which got a official selection in Vancouver Film Festival
.
Sonia is also the director of the theater group "Broken and Unstitched", specializing in performances of Federico Garcia Lorca and where she teaches how performance to new opera singers.
Currently preparing the release in the U.S. of her most ambitious feature film: The vampire in the hole.
