Edward 'Son' Barry was an Australian rules football
er who played for Essendon
in the Victorian Football League
(VFL).
Although his first name was Edward, Barry was known during his career by the nickname 'Son'. He joined Essendon from Albert Park
and was a rover in their 1897 premiership team. A regular Victorian interstate representative, Barry also played as a half forward and half back. In 1901 he was a member of his second premiership side.
