Eagle Eye

Skyview provides its students with a year-long class where students are taught the basics of television maintenance, program creation, and editing; This is called "Eagle Eye" or "Eaglei". Since 1993, the class has been conducted by John Moen. It was named after the school's mascot, the Skyview Eagle. The staff also uses this to televise current events, and entertainment to all classes in Skyview during "home room" on Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and sometimes on Tuesdays and Thursdays. (In place of Eaglei on Tuesday and Thursday, daily announcements are spoken at the same home room time.) Home room is between 2nd period and 3rd period (in the 3rd period classroom). During the 2008–2009 school year there have been two classes who have taken Eagle Eye as a class. One class is filming and starring in the show while, the other class is taking surveys of viewers and making videos to be shown on the show. Eagle Eye also provides information on the school's event calendar, the weather, and more.

The students that take Eagle Eye use professional green screens and soundboards. Eagle Eye also features a Good Morning Skyview show in which teachers and staff are interviewed or participate in trivia. Students watching Eagle Eye can call in to the broadcasting room during trivia to provide questions or answers. Many teachers have connected their TV's to their projectors, resulting in a full screen view of Eagle Eye in the classrooms.

In the 09-10 school year, Eaglei consisted of several segments: the flag salute (on Monday,) the daily bulletins, the calender, the weather, the game, and sometimes a feature or video segment where school events were discussed.

Class Changes 2008–2009

Skyview experienced larger class sizes due to budget cuts and has brought back six new teachers. Student schedules were rearranged to reduced class sizes. Many students had at least one of their classes changed.

Honors Program

Skyview features an honors program for students with exceptional ability. Students can take a test to enroll in Honors Math or Honors Humanities, which consists of English and Social Studies. Honors classes at Skyview have an accelerated curriculum which is one year ahead than regular curriculum. Skyview also features a special program called Double Honors math. Double Honors math consists of a curriculum that is two years ahead of the regular curriculum at that age. Double Honors ninth grade students take Honors Math classes at Bothell High School.
