Skyview's Arts department has earned a renowned reputation in the Pacific Northwest through the success of its Music and Dance programs. Choir and Band students have repeatedly earned recognition at the state and local level for their performances. Skyview is home to Vancouver's SMT (Science Math Technology) Magnet. Skyview currently offers several AP (Advanced Placement) courses with availability dependent upon student enrollment. Its primary purpose is to encourage students to advance in the fields of science, math and technology.

The Skyview High School Science Bowl Team of 2006-2007 won the BPA Regional Science Bowl, beating other teams from prestigious schools in the area. The team received scholarships and a free trip to Washington, D.C. for the national competition.

At the national competition, Skyview won 3 out of their 7 round-robin matches.

Skyview High School sent both Knowledge Bowl varsity teams to the state competition in the 2006-2007 school year after taking second and fourth place in the Washington Regional Knowledge Bowl Competition. In 2002 the varsity team won first place in the state competition, the first state-title of any Skyview sports or activities. Skyview varsity knowledge bowl took 1st in the Region and 3rd in state in 2009. The varsity team won first place in the state in 2010. The second varsity team of 2010 won 7th place.

MUN is a club where students take on the role of a delegate to the United Nations. By viewing the world from a different perspective and advancing the goals of another country, students broaden their horizons and gain a more complete understanding of the challenges faced by mankind. Students discuss such issues as international conflicts, refugees, extreme poverty and hunger, environmental issues, and globalization.

Charade's Club

Skyview's Charades Club offers students a place to go an express themselves in ways they have never before done. The club was founded by Conor Benjamin Underwood in the 2008-2009 school year, the original advisor was Ms. Nicole Cox. The current advisor for the 2009-2010 school year is Mr. Armstrong.

The National Honor Society at Skyview Highschool currently has over 100 members. In order to be a member of Skyview NHS one has to have a 3.5 Cumulative GPA (compared to the standard 3.0) and complete 15 hours of community service per semester. Skyview NHS does many services for the community, commonly committing volunteers for Friends of Trees, Race for the Cure and the Cystic Fibrosis Walk

Gay Straight Alliance

Skyview High School has a student lead Gay Straight Alliance to promote tolerance, understanding and equal treatment of students, regardless of their sexual orientation. It was founded during the 2008-2009 school year. The schools Diversity Committee is also a GSA Approved club, and has been around for a much longer period of time and has a larger club base than the GSA club.

Varsity Cheerleading

Skyview's varsity cheer team won state in 2009 bringing home Skyview's second state championship for the school.

Tennis team

The Skyview High School Ladies Tennis Team won the 4A Greater St. Helens League award during the 2005–2006 season. During Districts, the Skyview Tennis team also placed 1st and 2nd in the doubles draw. Skyview's no-cut policy for the tennis team was recognized by the United States Tennis Association.

Marching Band

Skyview's Marching Band has been extremely successful competing in the North West Marching Band Circuit. The band has competed in the open class since the year 2000. The Band made their mark by rocketing from a 13th place finish in 1999 to a championship winning performance at SPI the following year. The band has earned a reputation for having entertaining field shows, involving audiences and impressing them with their showmanship and creative visual performance. The Skyview Marching Band was also selected out of a large pool of schools to go and perform at the 2008 Summer Olympics

Skyview football

Though the Storm football team was not known for a winning tradition in the early years of the school. They have become, thanks to head coach Steve Kizer and the rest of the coaching staff, one of the top football programs in the state of Washington, winning the Greater St. Helens League championship in 2006, 2008, 2009 and 2010.
