Skyview is a gondola lift built on the left side of the Ericsson Globe, Stockholm

The lift is 100 metres, and consists of two spherical cabins, which gives the visitors an entertaining ride up to the top of the Globe, which is about 130 metres above sea level.
The project began in 2004 and opened in February 2010.

History

SkyView 1 year!
SkyView have during its first year had 160,000 visitors, travelling to the top of Ericsson Globe (the largest spherical building in the world). The goal was 120,000. 30% of the total have been foreign visitors - from Finland, Spain and Italy among others.

During the past summer all available tours with SkyView were fully booked. Weekends are very popular too. Pre-booking is recommended.

Trivia

  • SkyView has been in operation for approximately 432 000 minutes
  • SkyView has hosted 25 weddings - in the gondolas – and many more have proposed.
  • The first customers to buy tickets (tickets were launched December 2009) were two ladies, 82 and 84 years old.
  • 1994 glasses of champagne have been served in the gondolas.
  • 795 bottles of champagne have been opened in the gondolas.
  • The rail to the top was installed by mountain climbers from Jämtland
