Skaterade was first introduced by The Skaterade Beverage Company; an independently owned beverage company specializing in innovative beverages for skateboard
ers and the action sports industry. Founded by skater Salman Agah
and his attorney and former amateur skater, Scott Weber, Skaterade offered a variety of products – including Skaterade Energy Drink. Its motto was: "Join the Revolution". Skaterade was officially launched in March 2004.
The original Skaterade Beverage Company is no longer in business.
In 2008 the XTC Beverage Company re-introduced the Skaterade brand with a new flavor and label.

"Skaterade Energy Drink is a citrus fusion which contains essential vitamins and minerals.
Skaterade supports the body to sustain its natural resources for energy, boosts energy, without the crash, strengthens the Immune System with B6 & B12 Vitamins & Anti-oxidants, stimulates metabolism, and increases endurance, to reach peak performance."
Skaterade was available in 8.4oz (250ml) cans at retailers and select skate shops nationwide but is now discontinued.
In July, 2010 the XTC Beverage Company reached a settlement agreement with the Stokely-Van Camp Company and ceased production and sales of the new Skaterade brand as of July 31, 2010.
