Establishment

Sir William Stanier Community School was officially established when Coppenhall High School & Victoria Community Technology School merged together in 2008. Since the high school opened on 22 September 2009 with The Sir William Stanier Community School Leisure Centre, there has been 3 headteachers, Mr Mark Stanyer (September 2009-April 2010), Mr Gareth Jones (April 2010-December 2010) and Mr Wayne Trafford (January 2011 – Present).

Facilities at Sir William Stanier Community School

In 2009, Sir William Stanier Community School was known as being the 'State of the art' secondary school. Seeing as Sir William Stanier Community School specializes in performing arts and technology, these are the main things the builders focused on while constructing the site. Sir William Stanier Community School consists of three stories, on the ground floor, English, Media, Resistant Materials, Graphics, Textiles, Art, Drama, Music and Modern Foreign Languages, it also includes main reception and the entrance atrium. On the first floor, Information Technology, History, Religious Education, Geography, Child Development, Business Studies, Mathematics, this also includes a second floor office, lunch room indoor balcony and an Inclsion Faculty. On the second floor, Science, and it also contains a main staff lounge with balcony, and other offices. There is also another building referred to as the 'A Block' which is the leisure centre, and teaches lessons such as Sport, Physical Education, Drama and Dance, however this also contains a Social Area, Sports Hall, Dance Studio and Drama Studio.
