Singapore Broadcasting Corporation (abbreviation: SBC; ; Malay: Perbadanan Penyiaran Singapura) was a partially privatised mass market media conglomeration, which dominated the entire television and most of the radio broadcasting industry in Singapore
during its existence. Prior to the liberalisation of the broadcasting industry, SBC holds a virtual monopoly in Singapore in the broadcasting industry. SBC emerged on 1 February 1980 from the former government owned Radio Television Singapore
(RTS) on 15 February 1963.
SBC had since became the Television Corporation of Singapore
(TCS) began name Singapore International Television
(SITV) and Radio Corporation of Singapore
(RCS) under a privatisation exercise on 1 October 1994 and subsequently MediaCorp TV owner by MediaCorp
on 12 February 2001 after the SIM Group of Companies
