. Sinan Erbil's father, was the owner of a popular coffee shop in Erbil which would often be the location where people would perform spiritually uplifting music.

At the young age of 4 years old, Sinan's mother started teaching him Turkish folk music & would later go on to perform at his fathers Coffee shop whilst capturing the hearts of his fathers patrons. Although his parents encouraged his passion for music, they also were mindful in restricting Sinan from spending all his time on it.
However such was Sinan's passion for music, in his teenage years he would acquire violin & ut lessons with his own pocket money.

Career

In 1983, Sinan received one year tutition from the Iran/Azerbaycan music academy. As a result of political unrest, he later migrated to Turkey enlisting in a specialised bağlama (Turkish Guitar) course & later on became involved in the Turkish music arts via Niğde. Later on when he went back to Ankara, Sinan enlisted in another year of Turkish Classical & Folk Music where he further refined his skills.

In 1992 he performed in an Opera musical in Athens.

In 1993 Sinan migrated to Sydney. He was immediately involved in the Australian Turkmen & Turkish Association. To further strengthen his musical abilities, he joined the Sydney Turkish Arts Academy. Whilst there, he was taught by the world renowned classical musician Sabahattin Akdağcık & starred in many performances that were put together by the academy which involved another well known classical musician, Kemal Toprak.
Sinan Erbil attributes his love for music came from his mothers early teachings of Turkish Classical Music & his early stage experience via his fathers coffee shop. His music is driven by his patriotic love for his Turkish ancestry.
