Company history

Simplifydigital.co.uk is UK-based price comparison and switching service originally founded in 2007 by two ex-BSkyB executives, Charlie Ponsonby and Lawrence Bleach.
It remains a privately owned, independent company operating a website and UK call centre providing price comparison and switching for broadband, Digital TV, home phone and mobile broadband products. The business formally launched in January 2008 with a team recruited from uSwitch

Charlie Ponsonby, Chief Executive was Marketing Director at BSkyB for five years before leaving to start Simplifydigital in early 2007. Lawrence Bleach, is its Chief Operating Officer and joining soon after Charlie and was Retail Marketing and Distribution Director at BSkyB.

In early 2010, Simplifydigital also started offering savings advice on gas and electricity through its call centre.

Recent initiatives

In August 2008 Simplifydigital announced a partnership with Sainsbury’s to provide a white label version of its service.
In 2009 Simplifydigital launched a series of DRTV advertisements featuring Actor Peter Halpin as the character "Ben". Peter is the current TV face of Simplifydigital (2009–present)

Ofcom Accreditation

Simplifydigital is the only digital TV, broadband and home phone comparison service in the UK whose price comparison calculator is fully accredited by the UK regulator Ofcom
