The beat of the track is more of a gothic rock with a touch of pop and ballad. The vocals were of high energy, while the music can be described as an upbeat.
The group promised their fans a more manly and sexy concept, but they did not only delivered, but went above and beyond. The group returns with a combination of sexy guys and a hot track with their comeback single, “Shut Up” and “Before Yesterday.”
As the group departed temporarily from Brave Brothers who composed most of their songs from the very beginning, the group worked with composer, Kim Tae Hyun this time who is also the composer of After School

The original title track was supposed to be, Light It Up composed by Kim Tae Wan. But upon hearing Kim Tae Hyun's Shut Up!, the group shifted to have it as the title track rather than Light It Up.

This is due to some scenes by which the members went topless and appear with another lady.However, a clean version of the video was revealed on October 8 while a new version for TV broadcast use was revealed on October 29.
The newest version garnered the most number of views among the three versions acquiring as much as 650,000 views. If the three versions were sum up, Shut Up! has 1.2 Million views to date.
