, the CDP has a total area of 4.6 square miles (11.9 km²), all of it land. In Shonto, the local Shonto Canyon is where the natural spring is located. It is connected to the canyons that stretch all the way to Navajo Mountain which is in viewing distance from Shonto. The beautiful land is rich in mineral and water deposits.
