Shatabdi made her film debut in the film called Atanka, directed by Tapan Sinha, which was released in 1986. (Earlier she had worked in a film called Tina directed by Dinen Gupta, but it was never released.) More recently she acted in and directed a new science-fiction film FriendFriend (2009 film)
