At most section, the Federal Route—was built under the JKR R5 road standard, allowing maximum speed limit of up to 90 km/h.

Beam collapsed on NKVE-Setia Alam Link (Setia Alam Interchange)

During the year 2005, a flyover i.e. the NKVE-Jalan Meru flyover (now Setia Alam Interchange) was constructed over the existing NKVE. Unfortunately, this NKVE-Jalan Meru flyover collapsed onto the NKVE on July the 10th 2005, resulting in the death of two Bangladeshi workers and injuries to seven others.
