. Mary Grant designed the film's costumes.
The film took the two plays and opened it up for a screenplay that introduced some new parts. It stars Rita Hayworth

. It was nominated for seven Oscars, winning two (Niven for Best Actor

Vivien Leigh was cast as Ann Shankland, but dropped out when Laurence Olivier decided not to direct the film.
