, along Upper Serangoon Road. In 1998, it moved to Sengkang and resumed operations at Compassvale Walk, in a new school compound.

In 1999, Compassvale Primary School, which was supposed to start operations in its new school building, shared the school compound with Seng Kang Primary. This was because the roof of Compassvale Primary School collapsed during construction, causing a delay in the completion of the school building. Compassvale Primary returned to its original building in 2000.

Special Class system

Most Schools in Singapore use numbers or alphabets such as 1A and 1B or 1/1 and 1/2.

Unlike other schools, Seng Kang Primary School has names for each class. The classes are arranged from the class where the top students are put to the students not doing so well in their studies. First to the last with first being the where top students go: Faith, Hope, Joy, Courage, Kindness, Patience, Charity, Confidence, Dilligence, Harmony, Honesty, Integrity and Nobility were known classes since 2007. As of 2011, a new elite class of size 20 pupils, Resilience, was created for the Primary Six cohort only.
