SMSTSP (formerly known as Sekolah Menengah Sains Perlis) is located in Padang Behor Pulai via Jalan Padang Behor , about two kilometres from Kangar

, in a residential cum educational area, on a 12 hectares campus. Surrounded by beautiful scenery of greenery paddy fields and two major educational institutions ,Maktab Perguruan Perlis and ILP.

Chronology

January 1973: Previously Known as Perlis Science Secondary School and temporarily based at Derma Secondary School. 109 students.

20 May 1974: Moved to a new campus in Padang Behor Pulai.

January 1998: Officially one of Malaysian premier Smart School .

January 2001 : A new two-storey engineering building has been built near the girl's hostel.
