The II Amendment to the Constitution of Pakistan became a part of Constitution of Pakistan
on September 7, 1974. The II Amendment declared the religious status of Ahmadis as minority and as 'non-muslim'. After it became a law, the II Amendment led to the widespread violent attacks upon the community which bordered on genocide, many members of the community had to go into exile.
