Features

Sebastian River High School is based around a central courtyard. Its facilities include a 3,750 seat sports stadium, a 1,100 seat auditorium, a 1,200 seat gymnasium, a state of the art TV studio, a 6 ½ acre land and aqua lab, high tech vocational labs, a football field, three practice fields, two baseball diamonds, four tennis courts, four basketball hard courts,a wrestling room, and a cross country course.It also has 4 separate classroom buildings for The JROTC with a versatile indoor shooting range. As of 2002, a new Freshman Wing was added, bringing the number of classrooms to over 140, making it one of the largest schools in Indian River County.

Masterminds (Academic Team)

In April 2008 two students (Marcel Wolff and Andrew Ryan) managed to qualify for the state Commissioner's Academic Challenge, placing third. This marked the first time in the school's history that two students were sent to compete based on their points in the preliminary county competition.

In 2009, the Indian River County team won the state competition. One of the five member team, Natalie Wolff, attended Sebastian River High School.

Extra Curricular Activities (Sports teams included)

Sebastian has many different activities for the student body.

Sports include Wrestling, Football, Soccer, Baseball, Lacrosse, Track, Basketball, Tennis, Cross Country, Rowing, Volleyball, Softball and others.

Clubs include Drama Club, Navy JROTC, Anime Club, Art Club, Yearbook Club, Future Business Leaders of America, and many others.

Students can participate in any activity if they have a 2.0 GPA or higher.

The Sebastian River Marching Sharks (Band) are well known throughout Florida and the country and have won many "Grand Champion" titles at competitions throughout the state, Georgia and elsewhere. They also have been to many invitational competitions over the years. In 2005, the band traveled to Atlanta,Georgia for the Peach Bowl (now called Chick Fil-A Bowl).There they won the marching category and they were the overall Grand Champions. In 2008 the Wind Symphony traveled to Indianapolis
