Seb is one of Britain's leading young entrepreneurs. He first made his mark at the age of 25 when he co-founded Espotting - the company that brought search marketing and the successful paid search (also known as pay-per-click) online advertising model to Europe. He expanded the business across Europe before selling the business to US based FindWhat.com in June 2004 in a deal which valued the company at $186m.

Before Espotting, Seb joined Publicis as an art director at the age of 19. He was then a part of Rainey Kelly Campbell Rolfe when they successfully took over Y&R London. During his advertising agency years, Seb created the award-winning campaign that launched Coca-Cola in Russia as well as campaigns for some of the world's most renowned brands, including Virgin, Diet Coke, HP, Renault and Nintendo.

In 2007, Seb was one of eight British entrepreneurs featured in the Channel 4 documentary 'Millionaires' Mission.' He spent three weeks in a remote region of Uganda, using Western entrepreneurial skills to bring sustainable relief from poverty stricken communities.

Seb is the Chairman of Steak Media (sold to Dentsu Inc in 2011), a global digital marketing agency and is also an active member of the business community with positions including Non Executive Director of Future PLC, the special-interest media group, Governor of the School of Communication Arts and a Young Global Leader of the World Economic Forum.

Seb is also an angel investor in a number of successful businesses such as Adjug (sold to IgnitionOne in 2011), Ebuzzing, a European distributor of branded content through social media and Orlebar Brown, a leading luxury swimwear brand.

Seb and GOOP

Seb joined GOOP in 2011 as the CEO. In this role, he oversees all aspects of the business.

Started in the fall of 2008, with an ever-growing number of subscribers, GOOP is Gwyneth Paltrow’s weekly lifestyle newsletter.

GOOP provides valuable information on a wide variety of subjects including food, travel, shopping, beauty, and wellness. Tapping into the knowledge and expertise of a wide range of contributors including doctors, actors, musicians, chefs and an eclectic group of good friends, Gwyneth curates each newsletter with an editorial eye for the best of what’s available in any given area.

Seb and (RED)

In September 2008, Seb became the International CEO of (RED), the business founded by Bono and Bobby Shriver to raise money from the private sector to help fight AIDS in Africa. (RED) has forged partnerships with some of the world’s most sought-after brands including- American Express, Apple, Belvedere Vodka, Bugaboo, Converse, Dell, Shazam, Diptyque, Penguin Books, Emporio Armani, Gap, Nike, Hallmark cards and Starbucks - to create desirable (RED) branded products, with up to half the profits going to the Global Fund .

Since 2006, (RED) has raised $180 million (as of September 2011) for the Global Fund helping more than 7.5 million people in Sub Saharan Africa.

Espotting

In 2000, at the age of 25, Seb co-founded Espotting, thus pioneering search marketing and pay-per-click advertising in Europe. He expanded the business across continental Europe, powering Yahoo!, Ask, Lycos, Alta Vista and many more, before selling to US-based FindWhat.com (NASDAQ; FWHT) in June 2004. He then led the global rebranding of the combined company under the MIVA name. Following the rebranding, Seb became President of MIVA (NASDAQ: MIVA).

Since 2000, the model of pay-per-click advertising/search marketing has driven much of the growth in the online advertising market and in 2002, both Google (with their Ad Words program) and Yahoo! (through their Overture acquisition) entered the European PPC market.

Millionaires' Mission

In 2007 Seb was featured in Millionaires’Mission, a Channel 4 documentary in which eight British business leaders spent a month together in a remote region of Uganda, applying Western entrepreneurial skills to bring sustainable relief from poverty stricken communities. In the program, Seb helped create two businesses within the local communities - a farmers co-operative and Teach Inn Uganda, an innovative eco-tourism hotel. Since 2007, Teachinnuganda.com has welcomed many guests to the hotel, generating income for the parish community and through the help of Edirisa UK (Charity number 1112743), has now grown to three locations in Uganda.

Seb is the Chairman of Steak Media, a global digital marketing agency (sold to Dentsu in 2011), an independent non-executive director at Future Publishing plc, a Governor of the School of Communication Arts and is a member of the World Economic Forum’s Young Global Leaders.
