In 1978 Sean Marshall left the entertainment industry to pursue an education at Nortre Dame College Preparatory. In 1983 he received a congressional appointment to the United States Merchant Marine Academy at Kings Point, N.Y. In 1987 he graduated with a B.S. in Marine Transportation and an officers appointment in the U.S. Maritime Service, and the U.S. Naval Reserve. He now lives in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
