Personal Life

Scott Reske moved to Indiana with his family in 1964 when his father began work as a plant engineer in Lapel. Spending his childhood in Madison County, Scott graduated from Pendleton Heights High School in 1978. Scott was accepted to Purdue University and, while studying for his engineering degree, served as a firefighter and lived in the local fire station as a caretaker.

Early in his college career, Scott decided to serve his country as a United States Marine Corps officer. Between his junior and senior years at Purdue, he attended Officer Candidate School and later was an Honor Graduate from The Basic School in Quantico, Virginia.

After graduating from Purdue in 1983 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering, Scott accepted a commission as a second lieutenant in the United States Marine Corp and was subsequently selected to become a Marine aviator. Scott served as a helicopter pilot stationed on the West Coast with multiple overseas deployments to the Far East. While serving in the Marine Corps, Scott earned a Masters of Public Administration from City University of Seattle.

After leaving active duty in 1992, Scott joined the family business and moved his family back to Pendleton. Scott became a business owner and principal of one of Indiana’s major civil engineering firms, which employs over 100 people. Today, Scott is involved with a start-up construction firm and a construction products company.

As an Iraq War veteran, Scott continued his military service in the Marine Corps Reserve. Serving a total of 28 years, Scott retired as a Colonel in 2009. Fully involved in community service, Scott was a volunteer firefighter with the Pendleton Volunteer Fire Department for 15 years and currently volunteers as a reserve Deputy with the Madison County Sheriff's Department.

Scott is married to Jennifer and has three children.
