The Scientific Council for Government Policy (in Dutch: Wetenschappelijke Raad voor het Regeringsbeleid, WRR) is an independent think tank
of the Dutch government.
The Council has the objective to supply the government with scientific information on long term social developments. It approaches policy issues in a broad perspective, seeking to identify new potential problems and solutions. The Council falls under the responsibility of the Ministry of General Affairs. The Council has at least five members which are appointed for five years. It consists out of prominent social scientists, economists and legal scholars.
