living together, 9.0% had a female householder with no husband present, and 30.5% were non-families. 25.6% of all households were made up of individuals and 16.6% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 3.03 and the average family size was 3.52.
In the city the population was spread out with 29.7% under the age of 18, 10.7% from 18 to 24, 28.7% from 25 to 44, 16.5% from 45 to 64, and 14.4% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 31 years. For every 100 females there were 108.9 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 108.8 males.
The median income for a household in the city was $37,170, and the median income for a family was $41,747. Males had a median income of $24,955 versus $20,615 for females. The per capita income

It was part of the Oregon trail in 1836 - 1869. Schuyler is part of the Mormon trail in 1840's - 1850's. It is part of the Transcontinental Railway which began here in 1866 and is still part of it today.
